The same face from the first page to the last, painted in one style. These are the pages exactly as they came out.
Papa picked one glowing rose from the enchanted garden, and the castle gate creaked shut. "That rose belongs to the master," boomed a voice. Brave Luna stepped forward. "Let Papa go home, and I will stay instead." Inside, a great shaggy Beast stood at the foot of the stairs. "Nobody remembers who put this spell on me," he growled. Luna's knees wobbled. But his eyes looked lonely, not mean. At supper, a candlestick named Flicker lit the long table. A chatty teapot poured cocoa and talked about crumpets, and the magic mirror winked. From the far end, the Beast tried a tiny smile, and Luna giggled. Next morning, the Beast opened a tall door. Inside was a library so high the ladders had wheels! "All of it is yours," he said gruffly. Luna threw her arms wide and gasped. Evening by evening, Luna and the Beast traded stories and danced in the ballroom. Then one night Luna whispered, "Mirror, show me home." There was Papa, sick and alone beside a cold fire. The Beast opened the gates himself. "Go to your Papa, and take the mirror," he said softly. "Don't hurry back on my account." Luna looked back at him, and her heart felt heavy. Luna nursed Papa well, then raced back through the snow. The Beast lay still in the garden, and the rose had one petal left. "Please wake up," Luna whispered. "I missed you every day." Armies could never have broken the spell, but Luna's kindness did. As the first light broke, the curse melted away. There stood a smiling prince, and the whole castle cheered for Luna.
