About us

I Am In The Story is made by Softaware Commerce. We build one thing, and we try to build it well: personalised picture books where your own child is the hero on every page.

What we do

You add a photo, choose one of the best-loved children's tales — Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk and more — and we write and illustrate a book in which your child plays the lead role and looks like the same child from the cover to "The End".

The family can join in too: a brother or sister, a parent, a grandparent, a friend or a pet — often playing a part of the tale itself, like a grandmother as Little Red Riding Hood’s grandmother, drawn with her own face. A finished book can be read aloud, even in a voice made from yours, and turned into a film with music. And with a story subscription, a new book arrives by email every day, week or month.

How we treat your photos

The photos are used only to illustrate your book: they are sent to the AI service that draws it, and they are never sold, used for advertising or used to train models. Photos you upload for a single book are deleted as soon as it is ready. Photos you save on a character stay with that character — so your next books do not need them again — until you delete the character.
