Tap, tap! A boy who never grew up crouched at Finn's window. Fairy dust twinkled, and two-year-old Finn floated out over the rooftops, arms wide as wings.
Finn's elbows flapped, and his knees wobbled. “Try swimming!” called the boy in green. Finn paddled through the air until the whole city dropped away below, river and rooftops turning tiny.
Finn flew over Neverland, where a lagoon glittered beside a little ship. Under the trees, the lost children waved from their hideout. Finn waved back, delighted to find new friends.
Finn climbed down a hollow tree into a snug underground home. The lost children served imaginary supper. “No bedtime here!” they cheered, and Finn tasted pretend pudding with a very real smile.
That afternoon, Finn called across the lagoon to beautiful mermaids. “Give us your hat, little fellow!” they demanded rudely. Finn kept it firmly on; their sweet smiles were not to be trusted.
While Finn was away at the lagoon, pirates took the lost children to their ship. Finn spotted them from behind a beach rock. “Stay hidden,” whispered his flying friend. “We'll bring everyone back.”
Tick-tock! Finn dodged pirates aboard the captain's ship while a crocodile ticked below. The captain heard it and fled to his cabin. Finn freed his friends, and everyone flew safely away.
Finn chose to fly home, where his warm bed waited. He looked back at his friend and called, “I'll come back for holidays!” Then Finn sailed toward the glowing window and home.
