What we collect
- Account data: your email address, an optional display name, and a hashed password. If you sign in with Google or Facebook we store that provider's account id and email so we can recognise you next time.
- Book data: the name and age you enter for each person in a book, the story you choose, the photos you add, and the books we create from them.
- Saved characters: the people you save for later books — their name, details and photos, and a portrait we draw from those photos — until you delete them.
- Usage data: if you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics records anonymised page views so we can see which parts of the site are used.
Photos
The photos are used only to illustrate your book: they are sent to the AI service that draws it, and they are never sold, used for advertising or used to train models. Photos you upload for a single book are deleted as soon as it is ready. Photos you save on a character stay with that character — so your next books do not need them again — until you delete the character.
Payments
Card payments are handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number — we only keep the payment reference, the amount, and whether it succeeded, so we can show your order history.
We email you for things you asked for: a welcome message, password resets, and each subscription book when it is ready, plus replies to messages you send us.
Cookies
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in — this one is essential and is always set. We also remember your language choice and your cookie preference in your browser. Analytics cookies are only loaded if you press "Accept" on the cookie banner; choosing "Only essential" keeps analytics switched off.
Your rights
You can ask us to export or delete your account, your books, your saved characters and your order history at any time. Deleting your account removes your books and credit history with it. Email us and we will action it.
Deleting your data
You can have us delete the data we hold in any of these ways:
- Email: write to us from the address on your account and ask us to delete it. We will delete the account, your books, your saved characters and your order history, and any Google or Facebook login link.
- Saved characters: delete any of them yourself under My account → Characters; their photos go with them.
- Facebook: Facebook → Settings → Apps and websites → find this site → Remove. That disconnects Facebook Login. Email us as well if you also want the account on this site deleted.
Who we are
Softaware Commerce is the data controller for this site. For any privacy question, reply to any email you have received from us.
